Ingredients Quantity
Russet potatoes 4 medium-sized
Olive oil or cooking spray –
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Optional toppings
– butter –
– sour cream –
– chives –
– bacon bits –
– shredded cheese –
Instructions:
Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes while you prepare the potatoes.
Prepare the Potatoes: Scrub the potatoes clean under cold running water and pat them dry with paper towels. Use a fork to prick several holes into each potato, which allows steam to escape during cooking and prevents them from bursting.
Coat with Oil: Lightly coat each potato with olive oil or cooking spray. This helps to crisp up the skin and adds flavor to the potatoes.
Season with Salt and Pepper: Sprinkle the potatoes generously with salt and pepper, ensuring that they are evenly seasoned on all sides.
Air Fry the Potatoes: Place the seasoned potatoes in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between each potato for air circulation. Depending on the size of your air fryer basket, you may need to cook the potatoes in batches.
Cook Until Tender: Air fry the potatoes at 400°F (200°C) for 35-40 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time for even browning. The potatoes are done when they are tender on the inside and crispy and golden brown on the outside.
Serve and Enjoy: Once the potatoes are cooked to perfection, remove them from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes before serving. Slice each potato open lengthwise and fluff the insides with a fork. Serve hot with your favorite toppings such as butter, sour cream, chives, bacon bits, or shredded cheese.
