Brookings Economist: Trump Deportations Boosted U.S. Wages


An economist at the Brookings Institution has acknowledged that President Trump’s deportation policies have led to increased wages for U.S.-born workers.
The economist notes that by reducing the supply of low-wage immigrant labor, employers have been compelled to raise wages to attract domestic workers.
However, this wage increase has been accompanied by higher costs for consumers, as businesses pass on the expense of higher labor costs.
