Eighteen years after Madeleine McCann’s disappearance, a new Channel 4 documentary has unveiled chilling new evidence tied to the prime suspect, Christian Brueckner. The program features footage from a 2016 police raid on an abandoned German factory once owned by Brueckner — now dubbed his “house of horrors.”
Authorities discovered a shallow grave with Brueckner’s buried dog. Beneath it, they found USB drives and memory cards containing disturbing images, some reportedly taken in Portugal near where Madeleine vanished in 2007. Also found were firearms, ammunition, a homemade mask, and photos of Brueckner posing nude near the McCanns’ rental.
Most horrifying was the discovery of 75 children’s swimsuits, unexplained by Brueckner, who has no children. Toys, bikes, and bottles possibly containing ether or chloroform — which Brueckner had written about using on victims — were also found. Brueckner, now 48 and in prison for rape, remains the lead suspect but has not been charged in Madeleine’s case. As his potential release in 2025 nears, authorities are under pressure to act on what they now call “strong evidence” that Madeleine is no longer alive.
