Meghan McCain and Ben Domenech have shared nearly two decades together, forming a strong bond since they began dating in 2014. Though the exact date of their first meeting is unknown, their relationship quickly grew serious, and they got engaged in July 2017.
At the time, McCain said on The View, “We have been engaged for a while and we have been together for years… I hoped no one would find out, but I’m really happy and I adore him.”
The couple married in November 2017. Their family grew in September 2020 with the birth of their first daughter, Liberty, following a miscarriage in 2019. Their second daughter, Clover, was born in January 2023.
In June 2025, McCain announced on her Citizen McCain podcast that she and Domenech are expecting their third child. Speaking to guest Usha Vance, she shared, “I have two young daughters… and I am pregnant with my third child.”
Reflecting on their early relationship, McCain told The Ben Shapiro Show in 2019, “When we went out for the first time, I thought, ‘This is a completely different vibe.’ Conservative men take marriage and family more seriously.”
McCain also credited her father, Senator John McCain, with influencing the timing of their engagement. “My father had his scan at the Mayo Clinic, and we decided to celebrate life,” she said on The View in 2017. “It’s not the most romantic tale, but he is my partner.”
Though she once thought she’d never marry, McCain has embraced her family life. “We are all ecstatic and happy,” she said when introducing baby Clover.
Their journey continues as they prepare to welcome another child into their growing family.
