Trump Accuses Celebrities of Illegally Supporting Kamala Harris

In a heated Truth Social post, former President Donald Trump accused Beyoncé and other high-profile celebrities of illegally accepting millions to endorse Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign. Trump alleged that Beyoncé was paid approximately $11 million to briefly appear at a rally without performing, leading to boos from the crowd.
He also claimed Rev. Al Sharpton received $600,000 and Oprah Winfrey $3 million for publicly supporting Harris. “They were paid to do nothing at all,” Trump wrote. He added that paying for endorsements is illegal and called for criminal charges, though he offered no evidence.

Newsweek and other outlets noted that Trump’s accusations remain unsubstantiated. Harris’ campaign swiftly refuted the claims, calling the $10+ million payment rumor false. Beyoncé, speaking at the event, emphasized her role as “a mother who genuinely cares about our future,” not as a paid celebrity.
Federal Election Commission (FEC) records do not show any $11 million payment to Beyoncé. However, her company, Parkwood Entertainment, did receive around $165,000. Oprah’s Harpo Productions reportedly received $1 million, and Sharpton’s National Action Network received $500,000—both for organizing a livestreamed event in Michigan.

The Harris campaign stated that all expenditures were legal and reported appropriately. No official investigation or legal action has been announced by the White House or any agency regarding Trump’s allegations.

While the post has stirred political backlash, no wrongdoing has been officially alleged against Harris or the celebrities involved. Campaign finance records contradict Trump’s more extreme accusations.
