HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas (KETK) – The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office has arrested an 18-year-old for the fatal shooting that happened on Monday night near Chandler.
According to the sheriff’s office, around 8:54 p.m., deputies responded to Shady Trail in Westwood Beach south of Chandler, where they found 35-year-old Cory Starnes with gunshot wounds.Victim remains in serious condition after Sunday morning shooting in Marshall
Officials said that despite life-saving efforts by first responders and witnesses, Starnes died from his injuries on the scene.
“Investigators determined that an altercation had occurred earlier between Starnes and Chuck Brady Norris, 18, at Starnes’ residence,” the sheriff’s office said. “During the dispute, Norris retrieved a firearm from his vehicle and fatally shot Starnes before fleeing the scene.”
Later, Norris contacted the sheriff’s office from a convenience store in Frankston, saying that he wanted to surrender. He was then arrested for murder and transported to the Henderson County Jail.Palestine man arrested after 40 firearms discovered in home, vehicle
